  • Vwp please help

Hi My name is Nathalie I am from Denmark, and right now I am on the VWP visiting the USA, and my trip ends Feburay 8th then I have been here for 3 months visiting my frinds and traveled around.
So my question to u is, I know it is not possible to extend when I am on the VWP, but I found a animal rescue volunteer program, that I really would love to join, so I would like to ask if it is possible for me to apply for a visa here when I am still in the United States, and get my visa approved while I am here, and then travel out of the American continent, and then travel back in on my already approved visa? would that be possible? or is there any other way that would be better or faster?
how long does the visa application process take?

or could I go to Canada or Mexico a few days before my ESTA expires, and apply for a US visa to work as a volunteer in the United States, and stay there undtil my visa is approved of course?

Please help me I really hope u can help me, I really wanna volunteer in the animal rescue team.
    what can I do?

    thank u in advance

    best regards Nathalie

    Natalie,

Normally, one must have a legal visa, resident or employment, in a third country to apply for a U.S. visa. I could be wrong, and an inquiry in advance would be justified.

It depends on your status. You mentioned your on a VWP stay right now? If you have overstayed your time limit here in USA (which is 90 days), you might not be able to come back here in USA for another 3 or 10 years.

But if you haven't, you'll have to go back to your home country to apply for the right visa. Going to Mexico or Canada, is not a bad idea. But applying for the right visa will take time so I suggest you go back to your home country and apply for it
