I'm a US citizen and my father remarried when I was 14 y/o, my step mom entered with out inspection and I need please some help in how the process should go, first question; can I file for my step mom ? is there any difference between a steep mom and step dad under the immigration law, most of the information online refer to step dads or step parent but nothing specific to the word step mom.
If yes is the answer the process would go something like this ( please correct if wrong )
Form I-130
Once the form is approved (let's pray god) start the Visa process (this area is kind of gray still )
After payment has been submitted for the Visa request, file form I-601A (request for Visa Waiver Program)
Once received the receipt from USCIS of form I-601A, submit this copy to the National Visa Center
That is all that I know for now
Can someone please le me know if this is correct and what is next ?, also, my dad is now a Permanent Resident, he is planning to file for my step mom if I'm not elegible but we know as a citizen should be better, is this correct?
