My mother's return ticket

Dear Immihelp - I need help on following two questions.

1. My mother's B2 visa expires on 20th Dec 2012. Is it okay if her return ticket is on 26th Dec 2012?

2. For B2 -I learnt that there is no specific rule on stay in US and re-entry. Is this correct? In this instance, my mother stayed with me from Jan 2012. Her initial return was in July 2012. Visa was extended till Dec 20th, 2012. Is it possible that she visits India or Canada for 10 days to a month; then re-enters US?
Is there any specific USCIS guideline in this regard?

By Visa extension do you mean I-94 (extension of status)?
She is allowed to stay in the US as long as her I-94. She is allowed to travel to US as long as her Visa in her passport is valid.

Frequent travels can lead to denial of entry and permanent ban on future Visas.
