We both are US citizens living in US for more than 20 year, my husband sent the sponsorship papers to his aunt(distant relative)
not immediate relative. We took interview in Telugu as she cant speak fluently in English. She is very soft spoken and she went to interview at
Hyderabad consulate first time on September 14th - the officer(male) did not ask many questions and rejected.
Second time she took all the necessary documents and well prepared with answers and went to interview on October 10th the officer was lady.
she asked -
who is the sponsorer ?
Answer - my brothers son - my nephew
how is your brother related?
my brothers grandmother and my grandmother are sisters.
what do you do ?
I work in a volunteer organization helping orphan kids and old adults.
my aunt was about to show the letter from the orphan seva ashram the director gave the latter
but the lady officer said no need to show any documents and did not even listen and she rejected and said sorry.
We have sent all the papers correctly and we are financially sound, and send the invitation card of our house warming ceremony in Dec 2012
in USA
but the lady officer did not give a chance to even show the papers to her.
The officer just took the DS-160 and appointment letter and sponsorship papers (they were in sealed cover she opened in front of my aunt)
We are so devastated and don't know what to do
shall we reapply again ?
if so when and what else different we need to do this time?
my aunt has family and kids in Hyd - her husband is not willing to travel due to his business.
she is aged around 40 years.
