Visa approved, but last name wrong on the passport?

Hello,
My sister got her visa yesterday for 2nd attempt. But the last name on her application was different from the passport, because passport had only "P" as last name and we put her real last name on the passport. So, the consulate has asked her to correct the passport and send it back before they stamp the visa. Now, should she send the dd and passport alone or along with the letter that was given to her also? Does anyone know how long would it take to get it corrected on the passport Or how long the whole process may take?

We need her here by end of the month. Hope everything works out fine..

sir, ask your sister to contact passport office with her all documents of education or , make affadavite about her full name and get it stammed from your area Civil court. and give to passport office, they will correct the passport name on same day.
