  • Different Port Of Entry for B1/B2 Visa

    Hi All,

I wanted to know if its Ok for someone to land in a different Port of Entry other than the Sponsors nearest Port of Entry being on B1/B2 Visa. For example - I live in Pittsburg, PA and I sponsor my sibling to come and visit us. And after he got his stamping done he decides to go to Seattle, WA and spend sometime with his friends and then come to stay with us, would it be an issue? I need to know this because my brother wants to visit his friends in Seattle, WA and would come to us after spending a week or 10 days there.. I would appreciate if you can help/guide me. Thanks

Will the officer not ask the reason?

Will the officer at the port of entry not ask why he landed in seattle instead of PA? What should be the answer? Please advise.

Just tell what the truth is, "...I have friends in Seattle and he would meet them, stay for a week or so and then proceed to Pittsburgh." Make sure he carries your address/contact details and his friend's.

This is my opinion not legal advice.
