  • Wife Co-sponsor for Visa

    Hi,

I am planning to invite my parents for US visit. I am planning to sponsor them.

My wife is on L2 Visa and worked for 4-5 months on EAD. Later she needed to leave the job because of pregnancy. I am thinking to put her as co-sponsor along with me but she doesn't have income tax return document since she worked only 4-5 months only in this year. Is that a good idea to put her as co-sponsor or it could create some problem/confusion ?

Your help would be greatly appreciated

    Thanks

Why don't you sponsor them yourself?

As I read in various sources - If we both sponsor, it would have very good chances of getting visa. Not sure how true this is.

Thanks Deepak for your answer. Still I haven't filled DS-160 so I was under impression of having more than one person as Sponsor.

On a side note, L2 visa dependent can get an EAD and work legally in US so can have income.

        Thanks again

Just to add to whatever was discussed, their visa will be granted on them being able to demonstrate adequate personal/family/financial ties of their own to their home country rather than as to who has sponsired their trip. If they can self sponsor it will be the best starting point.

This is my opinion not legal advice.
