Need to sponser parents , don't have birth certificate

Hi

I'm applying visitor VISA for my parents (60+ yrs ) , got couple of questions -

- I don't have birth certificate, belongs to rural place. I have my DOB given in passport / mark sheets only . Please advise , is it mandatory / can I arrange some other document ?

- My parents are not well verse in English, may not be able to answer in English properly. I heard about interpreter service , how does it work ? Or please share how to deal with such common concern

Although the list states it is mandatory, I have not heard of anyone being asked for it.
