Applying Visitor Visa

I have entered united states legally, but was out of status for sometime and then attained legal status and have became permenant resident. I am applying a visitor's visa for my parents. Is this thing (about me being illegal) going to create a problem for their visa? As I have heard that immigration officers can track the records of the person sponsoring the visa. Please help me about what I can do regarding this.
