  • Did they refused my Visa Application?

    Hi,

I have two year multiple entry Visa to Canada and I have a partnership business there. I have applied for US Visitor visa in New Delhi consulate and the visa counsellor asked me few questions about my visit. I told him that I have few friends in US and I would like to spend a couple of weeks with them after finishing my business meetings in Canada as they have been inviting me for last year. I don't know if he was convinced from my answers as he repeated twice the he doesn't know why I want to go US. I replied him everytime that I want to spend time with my friends and I don't have other reason to go there.

In the end he told me that he will send my application to Washington DC and it will take around 30 days. He returned all of my documents except the application form. He also gave me a printed paper and he ticked the following reason -

"Your application requires additional administrative processing before a final decision can be made. This office will contact you once this adminitrative processing has been completed."

So, please tell me if he refused my Visa application. Are they going to contact me or do I have to contact embassy? I won't be in Delhi for two next months and I am on my way to Canada now, so can they provide me US visa through their Canadian consulate?

I would also like to add that I am a Muslim. So can it be one of the reasons that they are taking time to make a final decision?

A quick reply will be really appreciated.

Your visa is not rejected. Just needs further processing and usually the visa is granted after due process. Unfortunately the time frame is very unpredictable and can vary between a couple of weeks to a year.

Once you get a reply you will most probably be asked to submit your passport for the visa. I do not think that you can get a stamping in Canada based on your application in India, but you can clarify by calling the consulate directly. Best of luck.
