  • Previous US Travel Information DS 160 / Sponsoring my parents

    Hello,

    (1) My parents have previously visited US for medical treatment (10 yrs ago). At the time the visa was issued for a 3 month period (Is this common ?). However, my dad had to extend the visa to 6+ months. My mom returned on time. That said, i read that while attending the interview they should carry evidence of extension. They do not have any documentation related to the extension. Would this be an issue ? That is the truth, but is there way we could strengthen the case by providing some other information.. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

    (2) I will be in India when my parents appear for their visa interview. So, there are no relatives in US as I'm here. Should they mark "No" for are there any relatives in US on DS 160?

    (3) I do not have a valid I-94 at this time as returned my card while leaving US. What should I put in I-134 ? Is there any other place in the application I can clarify this ?

    (4) Lastly, given I am currently in India would this be viewed negatively when requesting visitor visa ? or can i clarify in my letter to consulate that I would like to take them with me ?

    Many thanks in advance.

They should answer yes and provide your information.
This is my opinion and not legal advice.
