  • In Australia, questions regarding qualification for B2 visa.

    I am applying for a B2 visa so I can visit my close friends in the USA.
    As I have been an army wife and mother for the past 6 years, I have no real employment history to offer.. but as I have a husband and three children who will be here waiting for my return, and as my father in law is funding my trip, is that considered enough for the visa officer to know that I have no intentions of trying to immigrate, etc?
    Also.. my father in law is our landlord, he bought the house that we live in, and our rent is basically our mortgage. It just wasnt done through a bank.

    Thanks in advance for any help.

    **edit** Also, I visited the USA for 8 days in October this year, on the VWP.
    **edit 2** as my FIL is sponsering me for my trip.. what documentation on his part do I need to present?

    1. There is no one set of rules that would guarantee the ties fo home country.

      You have strong family ties , not being employed should not be a problem.
      But there are these questions the officer will ask you;

      1. Why are you applying for a visa ; why not go on a vwp like you did before?
      2.Applying for a visa means you wish to stay more than
      90 days. Why do you wish to stay more than 90 days?
      3.. Why is you husband not funding your trip? Why your FIL? If your husband is
      not earning well, it is a negative
      4. You just visited in Oct. What is the need to go again so soon?
