  • B1/B2 Tourist Visa - Renewal for my in-laws - does interview waiver program apply?

    Hi,

My in-laws already got a B1/B2 tourist visa on November 2011 for one year and it got expired on November 2012. They were in US for 5 months and went back. Now I would like to renew their B1/B2 visa, as they are planning to come back Feb 2013. To renew the visa do they have to go thru the whole interview process again? I read that there is a interview waiver program w.e.f. March, 2012; does it apply in this case? If yes, how should I proceed to get their visa renewed?

    Thanks,
    Sharat.

Thanks for your reply. I have already read this link. Just wanted to confirm that this waiver applies to expired (within 48 months) B1/B2 tourist visas. The following holds good in my case.

      1) It is the same class of vise that we are going to renew (B1/B2)
      2) The previous visa was issued in India.
      3) There were no refusals after the most recent visa issuance.
      4) Visa was issued after 14th birthday.
      5) Old visa expired on Nov 2012.
      6) Visa is not lost or stolen.
      7) Prior visa was not annotated "Clearance Received"
      8) Visa was received after Nov 1 2008.
