  • Applying for Father-In-Law

    Hi,

my mother-in-law already has a 10 year visitor visa from 2 years ago. I'm filling in paperwork for my father-in-law to apply now. Do I need to mention anywhere about my mother-in-law at all? Eg. do I need to include her name on the I-134 form as a dependent or put her name in the invitation letter or the letter to the consulate?

Many thanks for any input you might have!

If they are visiting together , your FIL will have to write his wife's
name on DS156 for the q,"names of people travelling with you" and you will have to mention both of them in your invitation letter. No need, if not.

Did you sponsor your MIL before? If yes, you will need to mention that on this
    I-134.

Yes, they are traveling together. I will include them both in the invite, in that case.

No, I actually I didn't. Does that mean I don't include her name in the I-134 at all or should I include her name as the spouse "accompanying or following to join in person" section?

Thanks once again - you've been a great help!

You will have to include her name as accompanying spouse
        on form I-134.

By the way, did someone else sponsor your MIL or did
        she self-finance her trip?

Will do. Thanks for the clarification!

No, someone else (my wife's aunt i.e. my mother-in-law's sister) did the sponsoring last time. It's my turn now
