  • Visitor visa

    Hello,

I'm planning to schedule visa appointment for my mother next month.Meanwhile I'm visiting India this month & my last visit to India was a year back.I've been to India thrice in 2 years of my stay at USA.My questions are,
1)Will my visit to India hamper my mother's chances of getting visitor's visa?
2)If my mom appears for the visa interview & by God's grace if she gets the visa, can she fly with me to USA?will it create any problem at port of entry?

These questions might sound stupid but I'm really confused.I would like to plan my visit in such a way that during my return journey my mother can travel with me.Please guide me.

    Thanks & regards,
    Chini

1)Sometimes they ask, "when was the last time you saw your son"?

    But more importantly , the deciding factor will be her family ties to India;

your dad and your other siblings in India.

2)No problems at port of entry. You can just say she has come with me for some sightseeing for 2-3 months.

Thanks a lot for your reply.

My mother is a widow, she has LIC business & a property in India. She lives with my brother there & my brother from India is going to sponsor my mother's visit to USA.My brother's Annual income is good & we will be showing his tax papers as the proof of his income.Though I have visited India frequently, my husband has not been to India for last 2.5 years. In this scenario, do you think it's ok if I visit India before my mom's visa process?

      Thanks again.

In recent times, though unfairly, just being a widow has been a reason for denial
        in a lot of cases.
But she has her son living with her and sponsoring her , which
        should go in her favour.
        I think
_you should avoid going to India while her visa is under process.
_your mother should ask for a short stay say 2 months.

BTW, what is her LIC business? Is she an agent for LIC policies?

          Thanks again for the reply.

Yes,she is LIC agent for last 13-14 years, though her income through the LIC business is not excellent.Do you think this can work in her favour?

I guess, I should postpone my India visit.I'm glad you're answering my queries.

          Regards,
