  • Brother in US. Tourist Visa application for Parents and Myself

My brother is in the US since past 10 years. Currently he is working there on a H1B visa and his GC is in advanced stage. We are planning to visit him in the month of April for 15 days. My father retired last year, my mom is a home maker and I have been working since the past 8 years with current salary of over 15 lacs.

    I have following few questions
    1. Is it wise for my bro to send sponsor docs? Since we will be staying with him and travelling around with him it is obvious that he will manage our expense there.
    2. We did not visit him for the past 10 years so could this be viewed negatively? He has been visiting us every 2 years.
    3. For the interview I would want Hindi translator for my mom so how can I do this while filling group application?
    4. In all the recent experiences posted by applicants I see that VO are no longer asking for documents or reasons to comeback? So how can I show strong ties to the country? My job and salary is something which will be asked so would that be good enough? I will be carrying 15 days leave letter from my company.

    Thanks

Not to discourage you, but you should not apply this way.
      You have asked about "ties" in Q4; this way you are already showing them that you are leaving behind no ties ;
*dad retired, mom homemaker; no job ties.
*You going with them , one son in US; no family ties for parents.
*I assume you are single; no family ties in India for you.
Only thing positive is your job which , in view of absence of any family ties, will not matter.

        Thanks for reply.

So do you suggest that mom and dad should apply first and then me alone? Only problem is that they are old so they cant travel alone without me. Even if they apply first and get a visa and lets say after a month I apply, wont VO know that they have already issued visa to my parents who have not traveled yet?

No I am not suggesting that. I am saying you should not apply at all.
If they get the visa applying without you, which in itself is 50-50( because of their retired status), you brother can come and get them.
If they are visibly too old to travel alone, they may be denied.

Your application for a tourist visa, you being a bachelor, whether with them or without them will be hard anyways.
You should attempt a business visa on your own( going for a business in relation to your job) , that will be much easier.
the visa is the same B1/B2.
