Is Signature required on invitation/consulate letters ?

Would like to know is signature must on
1. Invitation letter
2. US Consulate letter
while sending the documents for visitors visa.

I understand that it is better to have the signatures but in case if they are not , would it be a problem ??

Signature is required It does not look good if you do not sign the letters.
