  • Visitor visa for my brother

    Hi,

In 2007 my brother visited USA for a business purpose and returned within stated period. Now he wants to reapply for a visitor visa to visit me. He's working as an assistant bank manager and have some properties in his own name. What is the possibility of getting visa and is that ok me to sponsor him?

Thank you very much in advance.

    Please answer;

1.When was the first visa that he used in 07, issued and when did it expire?
2.Which company sent him to US in 07?
    3.Is he married or single?
    4. What is your visa status in US?

For a young, single person, B1/B2 is easier to get if the purpose is legit business ( like he got it in 07).
Applying for a casual purpose to visit you and that too when you are firmly settled there with a PR,
the officer may think he may not return and settle there with your help. Since he is not
leaving behind any wife or kids in INdia.

I strongly suggest he should apply with a legit business purpose like going through his bank for a seminar , conference .
The visa issued will be the same B1/B2 which he can also use to meet you.
You should never sponsor him. ( shows that he cannot afford the trip and so weak financial ties to India).
Since he got his visa after 04, he can use the interview waiver program in India .

          Visa for my Bro

Yesterday my bro went to the interview and his visa get rejected.
My bro was away from business for past 5 yrs due to dad's death and he tried to started biz again.
He had all the invitation letters from trade shows for the upcoming shows in Nevada and California.
His visa got rejected on the basis that he was away from the business for last 5 years. If he is applying again what are the documents that he should provide?
          Appreciate your response.

            Brother's visitor visa

            Hi,
My brother recently applied for a visitor visa and got it. He is a Doctor and we have a family business in India. He applied as self sponsorer, but I also sent my documents stating that I am inviting him and that he will be residing at my place during his stay.
As long as your brother has all documents to prove his ties to India, you should go ahead and apply.

            Ankh
