Visitor Visa - I-94 Please help

My parents landed here on July 21. The immigration officer told them that they would be given only a 3 month visa. But looking at their I-94, no validity date has been stamped on it. Can you please let me know if I still have to apply for their extension. So does it mean their visa validity is 6 months ??

Your parents should go to your area port of entry office as soon as
possible to get a date on the I-94. It is very important to maintain
legal status.
