I am helping my girlfriend to prepare for her B2 visa and have some questions.
We met one year ago in Ecuador and last summer she came to the USA on a J1 visa, where we worked together in Yellowstone National Park. I am now in Ecuador again and helping her to apply for a B2 visa.
She is a student, limited funds, and has been to the USA once before with good standing. We have gathered for her all the necessary documents (bank statements from Dad and aunt who will pay her travel expenses, proof of home ownership for both, employment and income proof, National ID cards, copy of aunts passport showing travel to the USA, family tree, car registrations, police record showing no offenses, photos of previous visit to USA, photos of home, letter from her University that she has to return to complete her studies, student id,).
Anything else we should include?
Now here is where the situation gets somewhat confusing. Her father and her aunt will be paying for her travel expenses to the United states. When she is in the USA she will be staying with me at my parents house and they have agreed to be her sponsors in the USA and will pay for her expenses along with me. I am currently staying in her house and her family has paid for all my expenses since being her for 2 months.
They have provided all the necessary sponsor documents (proof of home, business ownership, tax returns personal, tax returns for business, bank account statements, Bank account verification letter showing funds, Affidavit of support form I-134, letter of invitation, letter to consulate, birth certificate)
Anything else we should include?
My questions:
#1. In the letter of invitation should we mention that we are in a relationship or say that we are only friends. If only friends is this strong enough to explain why my parents are sponsoring her? Or should we mention we are in a relationship and that she is coming to stay with me for a few months to see the USA and me.
#2. On for DS-160 there is only one option for person paying for trip. What if multiple people are paying expenses like in our situation? Who should we list as paying for the trip, the sponsor (my parents, her father or aunt, or me? My parents have provided the sponsor papers since i have limited funds myself.
#3. Should we show photos of the two of us in the USA and in Ecuador?
#4 Should the USA contact on form DS-160 be myself or my parents, the sponsors?
Any other advice or help will be greatly appreciated?
MY friends recently did something very similar with a guy from Ecuador. My friend wrote a letter saying they met in 2010 and worked together in the United States (he worked 3 times on a j1 visa), they were in a relationship, and that he would be visiting her house where her parents would be paying the expenses. The visa was APPROVED for my friend.
