  • Questions regarding B2 visa for mother

    Hi,

    My husband is on H1 and I am on H4 .My husband is sponsoring Visitor's visa(B2) for my mother who is a house-wife .

    As my husband is sponsoring for her visa , does my mother need to show her financial documents at the time of interview ?

    My mother do not have enough bank balance to show as a proof of financial status.But she has property(land) and jewelry on her name and they both worth up 20 lacs.Can we show the property documents as a proof of evidence ? We do not have proof of statement for jewelry,how can we get that?

    Do we need a notarized affidavit of property and jewelry for the supporting documents ?

    My father is a central govt employee and he is not granted leave.So we are sponsoring only for my mother.In that case does my mother need to carry my father's employment letter and proof of his annual income ?

    Also I have a brother who is unmarried and grandmother who is old and dependent on her.Are these sufficient to show her ties to home country ?

    Thanks,
    Priya

    Most of the time they decide on verbal answers without looking at any documents.

    But she must carry employment cum income proof of her husband and property papers.
    90% they won't look at them but just in case they ask. No need for jewelery assessment. Won't be required.

    Ties they ask about are;
    husband, children and family income in India
    She has good family ties ( husband and son ) but income wise it depends on how much your dad earns.

    If he earns very well, she can show self funding of the trip without you sponsoring. That will go in her favour.
