  • Urgent Visitors Visa Need help with filling of DS160 document

    Hi All

I applied for a B2 visa in Oct 2012, but that was refused.

The situation at that time was such that I was on a job break from October 2011 to September 2012.
That is during my interview I was in my new job for only a month.

The consulate officer told me that I am a good potential candidate for future, but he cannot issue a Visa for this time.

    My questions:
    1. I am now reapplying for B2 visa (after completing 4 months with current company), for the question "Have you ever been refused a U.S. Visa, been refused admission to the United States, or withdrawn your application for admission at the port of entry? ", should I say YES or NO ? (The reason I ask is there is no Rejection stamp on my passport)

    2. Is there any official helpline that answers such queries?

    Thank You for your responses.

You must write YES. because you have actually been denied and their computers have everything on record.

Thank You I will do the same.

Further to this I am a 29 year single woman, visiting friends.

Do u think this could lead them to believe that I still do not have enough ties (as I believe that is the reason the 1st rejection happened).

Because of official leave contraints I want to apply at the earliest, however would not want another rejection. Is this second attempt too close on the on the heels of the first interview. (4 months)

      Please suggest.

Also, what is the minimum bank balance they expect from a B2 visitor.

Your purpose of visit is too casual.
If you were going to visit blood relatives, it would still be natural.
But 'visiting friends' all the way to US from India , makes the officer suspicious especially when
you are young and single.( potential immigrant).

If you will be applying again with the same purpose,I strongly advise against it.

Please give me the last interview in Q and A fashion.
        Also answer the following;

        1. Have you ever travelled outside India?
        2. What family do you have in India ( parents, siblings)?
        3. What is the status of your job ? How much do you make in a year?
        (1-5 lac, 5-10 lac, 10 lac +)
        4. Do you have any relatives in USA?
        5. What is the duration you wish to go to US for?

PS they do not look at bank balances. They want to know your income.
