  • parents got visa in 1st attempt :D

My parents got visitor visa at delhi in first attempt. Just wanted to let everybody know that i give all the credit to immihelp. This site was extremely helpful and i prepared all the documents and questions suggested here. please read everything carefully here and there is no reason that visa will not be granted.
Good luck everybody and many thanks immihelp!

congrats. I remember you were asking about the NOC letter. Did they ask for NOC original? What do you suggest about the leave sanction letter? better to take leave for 3 months or 6 months if the applicant is a govt. employee? Can you share the experience of your parents interview abt the questions that were being asked?

    Thank in advance

      Thanks!
My dad took the zerox copy of NOC that he got for the passport and the counslar was ok with that. He told the counslar exactly what his office told him that he does not need another NOC for visa but when he gets the visa he needs to submit the visa copy to apply for leave sanction.
My dad said he wants to go to US for only 2 months as it will be difficult for him to get away from the family for so long and also he won't get that many vacations. 6 months sounds like a lot of time to me andmight raise a red flag for the counslar. (just my opinion)
my dad was mostly asked about his job: how much income you have, when will be retireing etc. my mom was asked about me, my sister and brother, their ages, where they live, weather we are single etc.
Above all my dad and mom said whatever was true. they did not have to lie about anything or hide anything. that made them feel at ease and they said the interview process was very nice.
      Good luck

        Question Regarding NOC

My dad is also a government employee. He has got his NOC but has not received the Leave approval yet. Is it necessary for him to take the leave approval to the consulate or the NOC is enough?
        Thanks!

No need. My dad told the counslar that he can only apply for the leave after he gets the visa as he need to submit a copy of the visa for leave approval (thats how it works at his office). just tell the truth, the counslar knows.best of luck!
