I have a friend who wants to visit me and other friends. She is studying in London.
I am a graduate student at a University and she is going to sponsor herself for the trip (10 days).
Could someone suggest the documents she needs to take care of. I would be extremely thankful for your help.

1. What is her nationality?
2. How long has she been in UK?
3. How much more to go in her student curriculum?
4. WHo is funding her studies in UK?
5. Does she have any family member in UK?
6. What are her future plans after studies in UK?

8. Any previous US visa denials?

Indian
2. How long has she been in UK?
Over a year and she is in of the best business schools- London Business School
3. How much more to go in her student curriculum?
She has a year left in her curriculum and she is also on a sabbatical from her previous jobs.
4. WHo is funding her studies in UK?
Her parents are funding her studies and she has taken an educational loan as well.
5. Does she have any family member in UK?
No, she does not have any.
6. What are her future plans after studies in UK?
She plans to get back to her previous job with a better designation.
7. Any relatives in US?
No, just friends.
8. Any previous US visa denials?
No

I am working with her to prepare for documents. Its probably a 10 day trip and we are shooting for 5K or a bit more.
Is an invite necessary for her trip?

B2 visa strictly requires an Intent to return after the visit.
And they judge this mainly from your life situation rather than any documents.

That said, she must carry all the documents listed on the US embassy london website
which will include
*an invitation from you,
*proof of enrolment and leave from her business school ( very important).
*proof of sabbatical from previous job .
*source of funding ( since it is a short trip across the atlantic, 5k should suffice),
(bank statement )
*proof of parental funding of her studies.
