  • B1 Visa Stamping - 221g (White Slip)

My in-laws were given 221g White slip during B1 Visa Stamping at New Delhi consulate. The visa officer did not ask them to submit any further documents but gave the case number and took their passports. Both of them are in government jobs.

    1. Would it hurt their chances if we email their NOCs and the Invitation letter to the consulate even though the consulate has not asked for it yet?

    2. The NOC is in Hindi language. Is it an issue?

    Thanks.

Do not do it. They would have asked for them if they wanted to.

      Please update your case

      Hi fundo,

I have the similar case as yours. My parents appeared on April21 2013 for B2 interview at delhi and were given white form 221g with the list of documents crossed . They kept their passports. Can you please tell me what happened with your case. Did they ask you for some additional documents other than the documents they crossed on white slip. Do I have to proactively do anything or just wait for their response.

      Thanks,
      Japnik Singh

Hello. My parents went for B2 visa interview on 14th March 2013 at the new delhi embassy. The VO asked my dad about his profession and the company in which my dad works has the word 'Power' in it. So the VO asked if my dad's job is related to nuclear power. My dad said no as his job has got nothing to do with nuclear power. Then the VO just asked 1-2 qs more and asked my parents to go to another counter where the lady kept their passports and gave them 221g (white slip) and asked them to check the status after 2 days. She cancelled most of the top portion of the white form which had the list of documents needed leaving only the lower portion which talks about the administrative process and gives the case status number.
It's been over 6 weeks but there has been no progress in the status. It still shows 'Administrative process'. Does anyone have an idea how long it has been taking currently for such cases to resolve?

Can you please share what happened in your case? Did your parents/inlaws got the visa?

221(g) white slip, Administrative processing-Tourist visa

          Hi All,

I have a similar case, where my parents appeared for their tourist visa interview. Surprisingly, my mother was issued a visa but my father's passport was kept. The consular told that his case is under "Administrative Processing(AP)" and handed him a white slip. The consular also suggested that he should wait for 3-4 weeks. According to the white slip, no documentation is required. Just to mention that my father worked for Indian Navy for about 15 years. Has anyone experienced the scenario where one of the two applicants was granted visa while other waited for "AP"? This week marks four weeks and I wonder, if we should contact embassy? I appreciate your comments.

          Thanks
          H.Singh

                  B1/B2 refused on section 221g

                  Dear all,

I attended the interview on 24th Dec 2013 for B1/B2 visa. There I was given a white paper as 221g slip checked the first box. The content is: You will receive further instructions at the emai.....
And I got a email asking me to fill up a form and send with my cv and invitation letter. In return I got a receipt mail saying that download the courier submission letter and submit along with required documents to the OFS.

They din ask me to submit my passport. Today I am going to submit the submission letter.

My trip tickets were booked for 25th Jan 2014. Still I have hardly 25 days only.

                  1. Is there a chance of me getting visa before 24th Jan 2014.?
                  2. When we need to provide our passport or not needed.??

Glad to tell that my in-laws finally received their visas a month back. They applied it on Delhi Consulate. Not sure if the same delays are happening in other consulates as well.

                    Thanks.
