My h1 petition is expiring soon and I am sponsoring B1 for in-laws

My h1 petition is expiring in may. My company is applying for extn in april. But I would like to sponsor b1 for my in-laws now (by end of feb). Is this ok. Will they have any issues? Is there any chance for rejection just because h1 petition is expiring soon?

What is the date on yur I-94 ? And what is the vailidity of your H1 visa?
