Verify current balance in bank

Hi all! I would like to ask if the US embassy will verify my current balance in the bank? I'd like to schedule for a visa interview together with my sister and son and I am taking a copy of my bank statements.

My problem is that my car broke down and I need $1800 to fix, which is about 70% of what I have in there. I need to fix my car since its very important in my work and in my farm for weekly visit. my question is, if I take this current statement to the embassy in few weeks and my actual balance is 1800+ less than what the statements claim, can they check it to find out? You shouldn't worry about this. They would not check your balances as on the date of interview.

I'm just a bit worried cos I have like 3400usd, so in my statement there's actually 3,400 but since need to fix my car, my current balance would show 1,600 only. So if they'd check it, it would show less in the statement I provided them. Just scared for misrepresentation of docs. Thank you!

You are not mis-representing anything. The statements are always dated. What it states is 'as on a particular date' the balance was so and so. I understand that the current balance is less than what the statement shows. Knowing that the Consulate will not verify the bank balance on the date of interview, here are your options:

a) Go to the interview with the documents you have
b) Collect a fresh statement from the bank, carry it to the consulate and show if asked
b) Update the bank balance so it matches with what the statement shows
