Hi Everyone,
I would like to share my parents experience for B2 visa interview at US Embassy in New Delhi.
Situation: My dad retired from government job last November and mom is a housewife. I have 4 sisters (all in India, working). I am a green card holder in USA. Parents put "Self" in the question regarding who will sponsor their trip.
Visa Interview:
Q) Why do you want to go?
A) Tourism and to meet son
Q) What does he do?
A) Works as xx engineer in xx company in xx city
Q) What do you do?
A) Retired from XX department
Then he did something on his computer and said "Congrats! Your visa is approved"
Docs carried by parents: passports, visa appointment letter, DS 160 confirmation page, bank statement, property proof
Docs sent by me (but weren't looked at): invitation letter, copy of passport and green card, employment verification letter
I hope this post will help other people or might ease someone's concerns if any.
Thanks,
