  • B2 visitor visa.. only DS-160 or DS156 and DS157 as well?

    Hi..
My brother is applying for his visitor visa to the United States. I have a few questions regarding the same-
    1. I saw the instructions that he needs to complete his DS160 online. Does he have to fill DS156 and DS157 as well?
    2. Does he have to get the following on a CA letter head or get them notarized- Property Estimate, Parents/ Self Affidavit?
    3. In the DS-160 form, he is going to state his primary occupation as "Business". In the question Briefly Describe your Duties: can he put "Owner/ General Manager"?
    4. Its our family business, although the company and land are registered in my Mom's name. Can the business be included in father's and brother's personal affidavit, or does it have to be only on mother's affidavit?

I would appreciate your reply on this, and any other tips you can give me will also be greatly beneficial.

    Thanks,
    Archana

    1. Only DS-160. DS-156 and DS-157 have been discontinued.
    2. Read https://www.immihelp.com/usa-visitor...tor-documents/
    3. Yes, if that is accurate.
    4. Only if their names are officially involved in that capacity. Otherwise, no.

      Hi,
In answer to question 4, what do you mean when you say only if their names are officially involved?

      Thanks.

        4. Are they owners? If yes, mention that. Are they employees? If yes, mention that. Are they anything? If yes, mention that.

If they are officially no body and acting as invisible staff/partners, then there is nothing to mention.

          Business owners/ employers

          Hi,
So, since Mom is owner, in her Personal Affidavit, I can mention her as owner. And my brother as General Manager in his PA, and Dad as Managing Director in his PA?
If they are shareholders, will this need additional documentation?
They all are owners, but on paper, only Mom is owner of the company.

          Thanks,
          Archana

I don't really understand what goes on in India regarding such matters. If they are owners, they are owners and papers would reflect that. If they are not owners, they are not, and paper would reflect that as well.

Mention whatever they really are and be ready to show the proof.

Other than that, I am not sure what else we can say.

              Brother's visitor visa

Hi.. thanks for the reply. A few more questions-
              1. Brother is coming for a. Tourism purposes b. Visit me c. Attend his fiancee's sisters wedding in Florida. But his fiancee's visa was rejected this morning.
Is it advisable to state (c) in his paperwork during application of visa. Or would it suffice to just state a. and b.
              2. His fiancee's visa was rejected since the consular questioned as to why her sister is in the United States and was getting married in the US. Although her sole intention was to attend her sister's wedding, do some tourism here and go back, I know that it's all up to the consular's decision. When do you think it is advisable for her to reapply again?

              Thank you.
