  • Visitors visa rejected

My application was refused on the 4th August 2005. I applied for a tourist visitors visa and the purpose of my visit is to visit a brother of mine (Citizen, entered USA since 1982) and his family and to purchase some video equipment for my business.
    My application was rejected stating:

    1. I am not satisfied that you have legitimate purpose in USA.
    2. You have submitted documentation which lacks authenticity as part of your application.
    3. Your family ties in USA and in your country of residence.

The officer was satisfied about my business, income and income tax, funds available for the trip. My bank balance was 16,040 in Dollars and my host $17,821.

Can someone explain the above reasons for refusal and what do I do to overcome the reasons and if I can apply immediately.
I am 29, married with a son, own business, car and a home.
    Thanks.

You were refused because you have a US citizen brother to support you
and you presented tourism(to meet your brother) as your primary reason to visit. You were suspect to stay back.

The most important issue with the consulars is assured return and they presume that everyone will stay back and the burden is on you to disprove that. Meaning your application should not leave an iota of room for suspicion.

If you had only presented yourself as a business visitor with no mention of visit to your brother, and you had presented only your own assets and business documents, business letters from US, you had a greater chance of success.

Do not reapply quickly; it will get you another refusal.
If it is not really urgent give it 6 months or maybe more.
You will have to mention your brother on DS 156 but do not
relate your visit to meeting him. Draw a strong business plan
that will really require your visit there, not a casual one.
Get strong letters from business associates in US.
Your brother being a US citizen is a point against you getting
a visitor visa. You must overcome that with strong business reasons
    to visit.
    good luck.
