Urgent Info needed - Can we complete visa appointment before submission of DS-160 ?

I'm process of filling DS160 for my parents. I am facing some delay in collecting info needed for them.

I have created two separate DS-160 applications for them (haven't given final submit) and have confirmation number with me. Can I go ahead with scheduling an interview since I fear I may lose appointment dates waiting for the info's needed.

Can I fill DS-160 remaining info's after completing visa appointment.

Any suggestions?????
