  • Query regarding property papers for visitors/tourist visa

I wish to invite my parents to visit us and for tourism in USA for couple of months.

The web site mentions, additional documents may be requested to establish if you are qualified.

Your intent to depart the U.S. after your trip (Evidence of your employment and/or your family ties may be sufficient to show the purpose of your trip and your intent to return to your home country).
However, my parents are retired and aged 65 plus. My father owned a business which is wound up and my mother is a home maker. And since he was not working, he doesn't receive fixed pension .

My father do own a property in India, however since it is bought from his own brother, it is based on mutual understanding and trust . he doesn't have any legal document like sales deed or stamp duty to prove the same.

If anyone could suggest me what other property's documents could i show to prove ties in India. Would Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) from a lawyer or letter from chartered accountant do in lieu of original property papers.

Property docs are not important , they do not ask about them .

Ties are mainly work, income and family.

Do you have any siblings living with them in India?

I have 2 sisters living in India. However my dad is retired and since he had business, he also doesn't receive pension to show ties. The only tie is my extended family and sisters in India .

RETIRED, NO INCOME and NO children living with them are actually negatives.

It all depends on the officer. Some officers are lenient towards parents
and grant them visas nevertheless. That is if your visa status , job and income in the US are sound.
Since you will be sending them the Affidavit of support.

        tips;
*if he can show some work engagement instead of showing RETIRED, it will really help.
*ask for a short stay of 2-3 months only.

He can't prove any work engagements and both my sisters are married.

Only way to show ties in India is his property, however since it is bought from his own brother , they have trust and mutual understanding , so he doesn't really have property documents.

My question is will any other documents like letter from chartered accountant or property MOU ( memorandum of understanding) or any other document do in lieu of original sales deed ?

It seems you have not read my first post carefully.

"Property documents do not matter. They do not ask about them. "

The reason is, documents are easily ****d in India, so they do not have this as a criterion.

And You can't force the visa officer to look at your property documents.

Since he does not have work and family ties, they just have to take
            a chance at the interview.
If they are denied, it is sad. But that is how the visitor visa process is.
