  • Mother's visitor visa got rejected, please advise

Hi, my brother filed visitor visa for my mother, but i got rejected under section 214b.
Our situation is my brother works and lives in Kuwait. my parents are retired and are depended on my brother. Also my parents own a house in Mumbai. I live in US since 2009, now i am pregnant and my due date is Sept 2013 and i want my mother to come and help me. Since me and my brother are not India, so to show that my mother will definetly back to India we didn't file our father's visa. What else can we do in this case. Also our friends told us not to tell them about my pregnancy as this make visa officer believe that she is coming for my delivery and baby sitting, so when the officer asked purpose of travel, we kept it simple that just for tourism and meet my daughter and son-in-law.
    Now question asked by VO

    VO: why are you going?
Mom: For tourism and meet my daughter and son-in-law.

VO: Where is your husband and why he is not going with you?
Mom: He has health problem so he can't travel long distance in plane. (as my father has epilepsy and he gets sick in plane travel)

VO: Show your daughter and son-in-law's I-797?
    Mom: Showed her our I-797

    VO: Where is your son?
    Mom: He works in Kuwait.

Next the VO rejected the visa under section 214b

Please suggest what we can do to make our case stronger before we reapply.

    Was this her first denial?

Irrational as this visitor visa process is, they suspect pregnancy too
    when mothers are visiting alone.

If she applies again in a short time, they will take it as desperation .

And she cannot apply with her husband now, because she told them he cannot travel.

What she can do is try applying a few months later with your brother. If he can come from kuwait
    and apply in India.
Just an idea. In the end it is the officer's discretion.
