  • Question about applying Visistor Visa for my parents and sister together

I am on H1B visa. My parents (Father is self employed, Mother is a housewife) and my sister(will complete her BTECH in May and has a job offer) want to visit me in the US this year. My parents will sponsor the visas. My friends here suggested me to apply visa for my sister separately as they say that there are greater chances of her visa being rejected. Are there chances that visa to my parents will also be denied if I apply it with my sister. How should I apply for VISA for my parents and my sister – together or separately. Any advice will be helpful. Thanks!

Members of a family traveling together, should apply together. Applying separately raises suspicions you are trying to trick the embassy.

Anyway, denial to sis does not mean denial to parents as well. It is common for them to grant it to some members and deny to others from the same family
    at the same interview.

      Hello,
I was just going through the posts and found yours similar to my situation. Did your family's visa got approved? Did you apply for your sister separately or together?

I am on H1 visa and my wife is on dependent visa(H4). I am planning to invite my parents-in-law and sister-in-law who live in India to visit us in summer. Should I sponsor or should my in-laws self-sponsor? Father-in-law has a home based business and sister-in-law is also working. What would be ideal in this scenario?
Or is it we sponsoring their visa is good because in case of any emergency it will show that we will take their responsibility?

Any information would be really helpful
      Thanks

Self funding is always better as it shows strong financial ties to home country.
But one must have good income to self fund.

If one says self funding on low income , one can get a denial just on t hat.
