First of all thank you immihelp.com for making such a worderful site, which is mentioning each and every thing about visa in detail.
Me & my wife applied for US visitor visa to attend marriage of my cousin brother. Finger print scan and photo was on 17-03-2013 and it was completed in less than 5 mins but waiting time for our turn was around 15-20mins.
on 18-03 we went for interview at US consulate at New Delhi. I was little worried as my present salary is around Rs. 25000/ and agricultural income is around Rs. 2.5 lac per year. I thought it will create problem.
We had the following supporting documents:
1) I 134 form
2) My Uncle 2 year bank statement
3) Their last 3 year tax returns
4) Letter of invitation & Cousin's Wedding cards
Me & My Wife's Documents
1) My present and all previous job related letters
2) Our Salary Slips
3) Leave sanction Letters
5) All Bank statement & FD
6) Agricultural Land Valuation Letter and Form J ( agricultural Income Proof slips of last 2 years)
7) Photographs of us with Uncle and Aunt
Our appoint was at 9.30 am. After waiting for 45 min we had our interview. The following questions were asked;-
US: Good Morning Madam

VO: Are you employed?
ME: Yes, working as YYYY in XYZ Company and looking after my agricultural land
VO: For how long?
ME: From july, 2013
VO: So you are recently employed?
Me: No madam its my third job and mentioned why i have left my previous job.

ME: 4 years. (mentioned my all previous jobs and my designations)
VO: to my wife: Are you employed?
My WIfe: Yes, i am working as school teacher in xyz school from past 2 years
VO: have you ever been to abroad?
ME: No madam
VO: Is Uncle sponsoring for your trip?
ME: They are going to take care about our stay and food in US but we will be arranging air tickets ourselves.
Then she handed us a GREEN SLIP and said congratulation your visa has been approved....
She didn't even checked any of our papers not a single one.
I would once again thank immihelp staff and all those who have posted their experiences on this site which have helped us to get US visa.
For those who are going to apply for visa, from my experience i would like to suggest that:
1) Always fill true information in your DS-160 Form
2) If you have recently joined a new job do mention details of all your previous jobs.
3) Be confident and always speak truth during the interview.
4) It might be that they will not see any of your document (like in our case) but you should have all documents with you to support what you have mentioned in your DS 160 form or any information which you are going to provide them. If you have genuine document with you, your confidence level will definitely be very high.
5) Above all always Pray...
Thanks & Regards
