Will my B2 get cancelled if I apply for a J1?

Hi all,

I have a B2 visa. I am thinking of applying for internship in Chicago for 3 months. Since I have to change my status to J1, will my B2 get cancelled. I plan to travel the united states after 3 months of my intership, so if I J1 expire will my B2 still be valid?

NO, if he grants you a J1, B1/ B2 won't be cancelled.
But If he sees a reason to deny you a J1 , he could cancel your B1/B2 as well .

I suggest you think about that. J1 also requires that you prove an intent to return to home country.
