Visitor Visa for Wife's Granny

I am planning to invite my wife's grandmother to the states for my wife's pregnancy. My wife grew most of her childhood at her granny's place and she is expecting her company here in the states and also to refresh her as she has recently lost her husband (my wife's grandfather). Is this allowed as I am the sponsor with no direct relationship to the beneficiary? or Can we have our granny's son sponspor her visa/travel? Please help with your expertise suggestions on this.

It is always better if the funding is shown by self or immediate relative in India.
But for that the source must have good income.
If your bro -in-law in India can show 10L + /yr it would be ok.

Also, a question would be , can she travel alone? Will anyone be traveling with her.

Also, do not mention pregnancy as the purpose unless asked .
