Visitor Visa Renewal Questions

Hello Experts

My parents got their tourist/B2 Visa visa in April 2004 for 10 years duration and they have been to the US 4 times for 6 month intervals. Now with their visa up for renewal in April 2014 I have the following questions and appreciate your valuable advice.

1. As the visa expires in 2014 is it okay to go now for renewal this year (2013) almost a year before?
2. Are my parents eligible for the interview waiver program? I see in one website it said it is only for visas issued after Aug 1st 2004 but not sure if this true.
3. How long before we need to schedule the interview appointment (if required)? Can you do it couple of months in advance

1. They can but it is not advisable to apply that early. The reason is they will need to present a specific plan of travel. WHich , naturally, they won't have
for a travel more than one year away.
2. No. They will have to go for the interview. Aug 1 04 and later are eligible.
3. Yes, you can but do it when their current visa is about to expire and they have a travel plan in place.
