Hi,
I am originally from Republic of Georgia(former Soviet Union republic). I'm currently in the US on F1 visa status in graduate school. I'm getting married in May( to an american but it's 100% legit ) and I was hoping my mom would be able to come to my wedding here.
I send her the invitation through my university, invitation from me, my student status, bank statement etc.
When she went to the embassy the first time they didn't even ask her anything and gave her the rejection letter (214b) right away. She didn't even have a chance to present all that paperwork she brought with her for this. They just looked at ds-160 and shut her down.
She's retired and a widower. She owns an apartment there but that's the only really strong economic ties she has.
My other brother lives currently in Italy(also on a work visa) so that's another tie outside the US.
She's going to a go to the embassy again in a week and I don't know how to make sure she gets a proper review of her case at least.
Any suggestions from people who've been in similar situations ?
Thanks a lot !
