  • Should I add my sister that is residing in the USA?

    Hi,
Previously in 2008 we had applied for a tourist visa as a family of 5 members and got rejected. Now Only Me, My Mother and Father are planning to visit my 2 sisters (one on H1B and second on Student Visa) that are in the USA.

We will definitely be showing my sister on H1B as a relative in the USA on the DS 160 form. Should I show my sister on Student Visa or will that have a adverse effect on getting the visa?
Should I show her or should I not? Please explain the reason why I should and should not.

Do not lie about immediate relatives in US.
This is a common thing people lie about and embassy knows about it.
They run all kinds of cross checks on their computers and it is easy to detect.

It will constitute misrespresentation and that means permanent eligiblity for any kind of visa to US.

You can succeed for a visitor visa on future attempts if denied once but if caught lying it is very difficult to overcome .
