applying for B2 visa during H1B processing

My husband and I plan to visit the US in June for his graduation. But, he has recently applied for an H1B permit which, if approved, starts from October. Will the processing of this get affected if we apply for a tourist visa now?
Does anyone have an experience with such a situation?

Your B2 Visa application will not affect the H1 petition or subsequent Visa application.
