  • Need Visitor Visa for Parents / My H1 expiring in 2 months

    Hi ,

I was planning to invite my parents and was prcoseesing thier DS 160 forms when someone told me I cant do it sinc emy visa is expiring in end of July 13.

If my H1 is expiring in July end and my company is filing my extension, Can I not invite my pareants to USA, apply for their visa in this month (April)?
Will their application get rejected in such case?
Or even if they get visa, will they be stamped only till July end at POE?
Also, I have 2 months Indian sal slip in between ( Dec- Feb '13), I have 5 months of USA sal slips prior to that.
will it cause any issue in terms of my documentation? Are 3 months US sal slips compulsory.

Please let me know so that I can take action accordingly.

    marriage

Hi I am US citizen and getting married next month in nigeria. I would really appreciate if any can suggest me how to bring my husband in to USA

Let me give a scenario for my question: If I get married today in nigeria and have all paper work for marriage, will I be able to take my husband to an embassy to ask for VISA so that he can come with me in USA next week?

    Thanks

No. It is not that fast.
      You have 3 options;

      * If you have been living in nigeria on a long term nigerian visa for 6 months prior to your marriage , you can file
for your husband's visa at US embassy in nigeria itself. It will take a few months for him to get the visa.

*If you are just in nigeria for the marriage, you will have to go back to nigeria after getting married, and file for your husband
in USA. It will take about a year for him to get the visa this way.

*YOu can get engaged now in nigeria and take your huband to US On a K visa ( fiance') and then get married in USA.
Even K visa takes several months.

I think you should wait till you get your exten.
You will be on a safer ground.
THere is high discretion for B1/B2 decisions. The officers can deny on any little issue.

THere is no preset limit for no of salary slips.
By the way, when did you arrive in US and are you sending them an I -134 affidavit of support?

I think you should wait a few months, because you just came here in march.

If parents have good income ( 1L/m ) or strong savings so they can fund themselves,
no I-134 is required. But if their income is low or borderline savings , you will need to send an I-134 with I-T return,
              and bank statement.

                Thanks !

My another query was if I wait for my extension, get it approved and then invite my parents, will the Indian consulate necessarily ask me to come and do the stamping for new approval , or I need not go to India for stamping and just invite my parents.

there is no binding on you to get the stamping. It is your choice. You can still invite your parents.

I am planning to go through an agent for parents to get help to create file/processing etc since there is no one to help them .
                    1) Agent says, I need not send original bank statement, i -134, etc. , scanned copies would do.
                    2) Also, is my birth certificate in original also required as part of document list..?
                    3) How do get I-134 notorised in US ?

                    Please let me know.
