  • Surname as FNU & Given Name as YYYY YYYY

    Hi,

Would appreciate if anyone could help with this Query:

I have filled my mother's DS-160 form & she doesnt have surname so i kept it as FNU & her given name as YYYY YYYY .
Due to this her DS 160 confirmation page has her name as FNU, YYYY YYYY .

I read in 1 discussion forum that in OFC centre they will ask you to edit this & get back with a new DS160 form.

Is it true ??? or is it okay ??

    Pls help

    Thanks
    Remya

Put the given names in last name and FNU in first name. FNU stands for first name unknown. If she is only coming here as a visitor, it is okay. If not, it is better to get the passport changed so that she will have a last name.
This is my opinion and not legal advice.

      Thanks for the prompt response.
She has applied for visitor visa along with my father & they have their interview next week.

I was wondering if i need to create a new DS 160 form with Last name as Given name & first Name as FNU ....or is it okay as i hav already paid visa fee & scheduled the interview date ???

      Appreciate ur help.
