L1B Visa extended at port of entry , visa about to expire. Sponsor visa for parents

My Spouse is on L1B visa and we want to sponsor visa for my parents. My Spouse has got visa until June - 2013 , however we're given extended I-94 at port of entry until Aug-2015. Please let me know if we can sponsor visa on the basis of extended I-94 (given at port of entry)

What additional documents would be needed.

Would appreciate to know if someone had been in same boat and got sponsored visitor visa approved.
