Hi,
I would like to thank immihelp for the information and the details provided on this website. I followed the guidance and my parents got their visitor visa approved at the New Delhi Embassy this month. I came to US on H4 visa and after an year got H1B visa but haven't traveled to India since 2 years. My dad is retired and mom is a housewife. I have a younger sister who is studying in college. I sponsored the visa for my parents. I sent them all the original sponsor documents mentioned on immihelp. They had schedule their visa interview in hindi, but there was no interpreter infact the visa office was speaking Hindi very well.
My parents: Good Morning mam!
VO: GM
VO: Do you have a relative in USA ?
Mom: Yes, our daughter is in USA
VO: when did she go to USA
MOM: Told her the exact date
VO: What is she doing in US?
Mom: She is working as YYYY at YYYY
VO: Since how long has she been working?
Mom: Gave her the exact date
VO: Is she married? Since when?
Mom: Yes, told her the date of marrige
VO: What does your son in law do?
Mom: Works as a xxx at xxxx
VO: Why do you want to go to USA ?
Mom: Tourism purpose and to visit our daughter and son in law
VO: What is the duration of your visit?
Mom: 4-6 weeks only.
VO: How many kids do you have and what do they do?
Mom: We have two daughters, elder one is in US and the younger one is in
her college.
VO: Give me a copy of your daughter's passport.
Mom: Gave her the copy of my passport.
Then she did something on her computer and then came the golden words:
VO: Congratulations! your visa is approved!
She did not ask any question from my dad.
The key is to be spontaneous in your answers and be truthful. All they are looking for is the strong ties to the home country. All the best to all of you!
Thanks
