  • Mom's visitor visa

    Hi
I am studying in US and my husband is on H1 visa. My mom applied for visitor visa in Dec2012 which got rejected 214b. My younger sister is also studying in US. I want to invite my mom for my graduation ceremony next year. I need to decide if i should invite her for graduation and then my husband would sponsor her. my husband will also be sponsoring his parent's visa around the same time. Will that be a problem ? How much funds would be sufficient to sponsor all three? Is me and my sister both being in US a negative factor? My mom is working in the state government in I ndia and can show property ties too. Kindly help on what would be the best way to get her visa approved. dont want to take any chances!!

    Thanks in advance!!!

        I am sorry.

Widow + all kids in US is a very bad combination for a visitor visa.

It shows that she is very likely to stay with her kids and not return.

        That is how they decide.

All she can do is keep trying , there are some posts of such cases having succeeded in 4-5 attempts.

          Thanks for the reply!!

Would it help if she applies with my parents in law or uncle and aunt as a group visa? Or take a trip to some other country?
