  • Vistor Visa validity

    Hello There,

Once the visitor visa approved, How are they deciding on the "Visa Stamp Duration". Is it based on the applicant age?

My In-Laws are 51 and 44 years of Age. I got their interview appointment date in mid september 2005. But they are not planned for their USA trip until May next year (2006). Someone told us that people less than 60's do not get 10 years visitor visa. So, we were worried what if my in-laws get only 6 months visa and there is no way they could make their trip this year and it will be already expired when they plan for their trip in May 2006.

Please advice, should I cancel their sep 05 appointment and get a new one in next year? or stay on schedule and cross our fingers...

    Thanks,
    -Sankar

There is no such precise logic. They decide based on their wish.
