  • US VISA 6 Months Validity

My parents aged 66 and 55, got only six months visitor visa from Sept 2005 to Feb2005.
As I understood the validity period is only to enter into US.
My question here is can they enter into US in Jan 2006 and stay until before expire of I-94 but after expire of stamped VISA date? Does anybody have similar issuance before?
Does it create any problem for reapplying of US VISA again?
    Thanks a lot.

Yes, they can . Their stay will be perfectly legal as long as they do not
cross the date on the I-94 even if their visa has expired. And it will not create any problems with further visa issuance.

Thanks a lot for the reply.
Do you know, generally how many months of VISA they Issue at POE
if you enter 2 or 1 month before the Visa expires?

      anybody have any idea?
      Thank you.

U mean how many days is the I 94 valid??? There is no VISA that will be issued at POE.

In 99% of the cases...I 94 is stamped for 6 months. However...sometimes...it has been noted that I 94s are valid until the Visa vailidity period, in cases wherein the Visa is valid for less than 6 months from date of entry.

So...it will purely depend on the POE authority's descretion.

Yes, it all depends on the inspector at the entry point how much stay you will get.
