  • Urgent:Question about property documents

Hi! My parents have their visa interview next week. All documents (like sale deed etc.) showing ownership of their house /property are in Marathi . Are documents in Indian languages valid or do they have to carry the translated version (English) of the papers? If yes, what is the procedure for translation? Pls advice. Thanks a lot !

I dont know whether there is any procedure..But lot of people are doing this..

You can have a property value assessor to give an affidavit in English saying that the property/house that your parents own is valued at (whatever value)Rs. They can take that affidavit as a proof in English that they own property in addition to the actual docs in Marathi.

      translation into english

Hi, i needed to tranlate our ration card from marathi to english and did so by getting a translator [you generally find official translators outside the courts] to do so on a stamp paper. the tranlated version was then attested by a notary stating it to be an original. when i went for the interview, i took both marathi and english ones, but the officers did not even ask for it. hope that this helps you. janu, mumbai
