  • Need suggestion of Parents Visa Question regarding sibling's marital status

    Hi

I am planning to sponsor my parents visa to US. we have all the documentation ready and they have the interview next week.
Now I am sure one of the common question they ask, "why would you go back to India?"

They are going to answer saying they have property and assets and they cannot leave them there.

Now, I have a younger sister who is married. Do you suggest them not to tell the consular that they have a daughter who is not married and they have to come back to India to get her married sometime next year? ( i believe this makes the case stronger)..is there any way for the consular to cross check this Info?

Or is it always good to speak the truth?

It is not just good, but necessary to always speak the truth to any immigration officials. Your parents must mention all their children's information in the DS160 form and they should also truthfully answer all questions. Any willful misrepresentation can lead to permanent ban. This kind of unscrupulous behavior also affects other genuine people.
This is my opinion and not legal advice.
